Yoga Gently:
Sonya's Unique Approach

Breath first. Always.

Everything is centered around the breath.

With a clear focus and emphasis on the breath, you can regulate your nervous system.

Whether working on strength or relaxation – whatever is happening in class – the breath is what allows the integration and consolidation of energy.  And then, once energy is flowing, you can bring the mind and the body together (again with the breath) to create balance and ease. Sigh. Doesn't that sound inviting?

Each person is seen and treated as a whole being. And each being is more than a body.

Even more than a mind and a body.

In Yoga Therapy we look at all 5 aspects, from gross to subtle:

   the body,

     the breath,

the mind (and how the mind relates to the world),

the values and morals that shape a being,

a life purpose or a connection to what's beyond the person.

With these five aspects we can find an effective entry point to work quickly and deeply to create more balance and wellness.

Breath is the link to calming the nervous system, the ability to be focused and well.
