Essentials for Balance - 3-Part Series

Ever wonder what you can do to improve your balance?

According to the CDC*, more than one out of four people over 65 fall each year.

In this 3-part Essentials for Balance Yoga Series, Sonya shares her system for linking breath with movement, gently, to enhance and maintain your mind/body/breath mechanics for balance.

 

Rent each individual course segment for 24 hours

Part 1

 

The first segment introduces the 3 B's:  Breath, Body, and Brain. We learn how they inter-relate to impact balance, and explore some wonderfully gentle movements of the limbs and spine in order to build the first steps to improved balance.

Part 2

 

Segment 2 focuses on the 3 C's: Calm, Connection, and Confidence. Adding to the foundations we built in Segment 1, we focus here on spinal alignment and comfortable coordination of movement. Our goal is to establish core strength and find our center. 

Part 3

 

In Segment 3, we bring together the principles we learned in the previous weeks, and meet the 3 M's: Mobility, Midline, and Maintenance. Here, we add feet, knees and hips mobilization to enhance stability. We then tie it all together with an empowering whole-body awareness - the key to improved balance.
